REQUEST FOR RESPONSE: Philip Seymour Hoffman

I must truly say that Russell Brand's articulate words and the composition of them amazed me. He took a topic so deeply affected by so many and created a general conclusion that many people can then stop and think "Wait, this sounds like it's right." It's because it is. He explained addiction in terms that everyone can understand. He marked it as a "Addiction is a mental illness around which there is a great deal of confusion, which is hugely exacerbated by the laws that criminalise drug addicts." When reading that, readers take a second and think it over twice. Brand did a great job of capturing people's attention and then making them reconsider their presumptions. He tied all this in with Philip Seymour Hoffman which was tragic and Russell touched on this. Russell Brand was the best person to write this type of essay considering his circumstances as well.
